The project will consist of a several of Halloween themed competitions at several locations occurring simultaneously. Volunteers will run each competition ( with assistance from Promise House staff and Susan Nichol Executive Director of Capital for Kids). The youth will be divided into teams with each team winning at least one of the competitions. Competitions include a pumpkin decorating contest, creation of special Halloween treats( cookies) and aprons, a “Thriller” dance off using the Just Dance game on the Wii.
The supplies for the activities will be provided and on site when the volunteers arrive.
We will end with the children watching a Halloween themed movie "Hocus Pocus".
Agenda will be the following:
• 1-1:30-Welcome, paperwork & station assignments
• 1:30-2:00 p.m.-First Stations (estimated 30 minutes)
• 2-2:30 p.m.-Second Stations (estimated 30 minutes)
• 2:30-3:00 p.m.-Third Stations (estimated 30 minutes)
• 3-3:15 p.m. –Announce winning teams of each station
• 3:15-4:30ish-Movie "Hocus Pocus" Snack Consumption!
The movie concludes the project so the youth have a chance to wind down after the day’s activities and so that any volunteers who need to duck out a bit early can do so with ease. The children and teens of the Promise House attend DISD school onsite at the Promise House. This will be a great opportunity for them to celebrate the end of a school week. I have no doubt you will have an incredible time with the children of the Promise House.
Let me know if you can help serve next Friday.

Contributes to initiative to achieve ‘$10M in 10 years’ for children in need
November 12, 2014 – New York, NY – Orangefield Columbus, a global fund administrator that delivers high-touch services using a straight-forward approach and advanced technology, announced today its 2014 sponsorship of Capital for Kids, a charity that brings together a network of volunteers from the investment management industry to make a difference in the lives of children in need within the Northern Texas community. As a Piggy Bank Sponsor, Orangefield Columbus has pledged $10,000 to the organization alongside companies including Deutsche Bank, UBS Investment Bank, Deloitte & Touche, and Morgan Stanley.
In celebration of Capital for Kids’ ten year anniversary, the organization established a goal to grant $10 million within its ten year history to mark ten years of supporting North Texas childrens’ charities. Since its launch, the organization has donated more than $8 million to more than 50 different charitable organizations in North Texas. A fundraiser and auction to further this year’s goal to raise an additional $1.55 million in grants will be held on November 20, 2014 in Dallas, Texas. Proceeds help to provide safe shelter for abused children, foster mentoring relationships, expand educational opportunities and cultivate life skills that will lead children in need to a brighter future as contributing members of the community.
“Orangefield Columbus is committed to the development of underserved communities and is delighted to find a partner that shares our goal to give back from the investment management industry,” said Joe Holman, CEO of Orangefield Columbus. “As this year’s event draws closer, we encourage other companies to join together and help us achieve our collective goal to raise $10 million to celebrate ten years of giving back to children’s charities.”
